Capsule Geology

The YHWH occurrence is located northwest of the Falls River, approximately 7.5 kilometres west of the lower Taseko Lake.

The area lies within the Jurassic to Tertiary Coast Plutonic Complex near its eastern margin, and just west of the northwest- trending Tchaikazan fault. The property is underlain by massive Late Cretaceous holocrystalline granodiorite cut by numerous north- striking lamprophyre dikes.

Locally, sulphide mineralization is confined to a 3-metre-wide northwest-trending shear zone and is composed of pyrite, chalcopyrite and molybdenite, exposed over a distance of 160 metres. The zone strikes 092 to 096 degrees,

In 1987, a grab sample of sulphide-bearing rock assayed 0.84 gram per tonne gold and greater than 100 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 16919).

Work History

A short, 5-metre adit, of unknown age, is reported near the occurrence. In 1987, Cathedral Gold Corp. and Lord River Gold Mines completed a program of geochemical sampling and geological mapping on the area as the YHWH claim. In 1998, Pellaire Gold Mines completed a program of geological mapping and rock, silt and soil sampling on the area. In 2019, Blue Lagoon Resources Inc. competed a program of prospecting, geochemical (rock and soil) sampling and ground magnetic surveys on the area as part of the Pellaire Gold project.
